Cautions for custom DNA Sequencing Service

Sample shipping

* Please send your filled order form by E-mail to . Please avoid sending by
   Fax as it may cause difficulties of visibility.

* Please make sure to label all the tubes with the client's name and sample (primer) name.

* It is recommended to use chilled delivery service for sample shipping.

* Please make sure to take all necessary measures to avoid any content loss or contamination
   due to contingency, such as tube damage or loose cap.

* It is highly recommended to send samples in a 1.5 ml tube, as 0.2 or 0.5 ml tubes are proved
   to be more fragile.

* Order acknowledgement and estimated turnaround will be informed by E-mail after receiving
   sample. Please let us know if no reply is sent after shipping sample.

* HSS will not be responsible for any claims of damage caused on delivery except for claims of
    loss or damage owing to error by HSS.

* Samples and primers used for sequencing analysis will be basically stored for three days
   after the analysis completion, then be destroyed. Thank you for your understanding.

* Please make sure that your package will be delivered on working days. Thank you for your
   understanding.

Sequencing data

* Sequencing of the approximate first 10 bases, counted from the 3' primer terminal, is difficult
   due to the limitation in the sequencing technique. It gets out of the capillary electrophoresis's
   resolution.

* Sequence data of the sequencing primer cannot be obtained as a result of the reaction.

* Success of the sequencing reaction depends on the concentration, purity, and base
   composition of the DNA sample. Please note that there are specific sequences
   (homopolymer, polyA, polyT, GCrich, repetitiveness, etc.) for which sequencing fails
   completely.

* Reliability of the sequence data is low for after a homopolymer such as the polyT.

* Standard cycle sequencing is run with an annealing temperature of 50C. Please prepare
   appropriate Tm value for your custom primer when provided.

* Success rate for sequencing using degenerated primer is low.
   This may cause lower precision of the Basecalling due to the dispersion in the molecular
   masses of cycle sequencing reaction product.

Miscellaneous

- Description and scope of the service are subject to changes without notice.

- The result of this custom analysis service should be used for the purpose of investigation. The
   result should not be used for purposes such as production/quality control of a medical product
   or food, diagnosis, etc.

- HSS will not be responsible for losses a client may incur as a result of the custom analysis
   service output.

- Samples are limited to the P1 and P2 levels defined in "the Law concerning the Conservation
   and Sustainable Use of Biological Diversity through Regulations on the Use of Living Modified
   Organisms" (Cartagena Protocol) issued by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science
   and Technology.

- Blood, body fluids, tissues, pathogenic virus, and/or infectious virus as such are not accepted
   as valid samples. Samples will be accepted only if submitted in the form of DNA.

- In case of using human clinical sample, please confirm if the informed consent is obtained.
